If you could be everything right now, what would you be?
I would like to just be who I am.
Which book are you reading?
“Il minotauro” by Friedrich Dürrenmatt
Which photographer is teaching you something?
Rinko Kawauchi for the power of his poetic images and the beauty of his everyday life.
Are you working on a particular project right now? Can you tell us something about it?
I’m working on a new book, “Solitudini Distratte”, self pubished and totally made by hand. It’s a four hands work, my pictures and the words of the Italian writer Matteo Mammucari. It’s a book that seeks to investigate the solitude and its different forms.
Your project “Terramadre” reminds us Arno Rafael Minkkinen’s work: do you know him and did he influence you in your researches?
Arno Rafael Minkkinen has inspired me in my early years. I was fascinated by his work and his poetry. “Terramadre” is a tribute and a thank you for his teaching, meanwhile this was the best language to tell about my places and landscapes.
All your projects are clearly described by you in a poetic way: do you write? Is one of your passion, beside photography?
Yes, I love to write. Writing and photography are walking on the same track. For me, they remain two closely related languages. Sometimes I write alone, sometimes I work with other writers.
