If you could be anything right now, what would you be?
A feather. Free and without control.
Which book are you reading?
Netočka Nezvanova by F.Dostoevskij
Which photographer is teaching you something?
It ’s very difficult to choose one. In this moment I feel very close to the research of Düsseldorf School of Photography. In particular, I really appreciate the precision and symmetry of Candida Hofer and the point of view of Laurenz Berges.
Are you working on a particular project right now? Can you tell us something about it?
Right now I’m working on some fashion editorials, I have some ideas and concepts that I have to developed in next months. But my main purpose is to be able to complete some personal photographic series; these works need time to be completed, but also travels, researches and exploration. These are projects that combine architecture and man, celebrating the structure, and, very often, the concept of emptiness, absence and decadence.
Are you working as a fashion photographer: do you like it? Does it pay your rent and bills?
Yes, I really like working in the field of fashion photography. Working on a editorial brings you to interact with various fields, from styling to make up to research of the location. Try to create a project that enhances the aesthetics and contemporary beauty excites me a lot. The synergy that we have on the set with the whole team is very inspiring. I consider myself very lucky because with this job I can pay all my bills.
In your personal works we can see travels, people, architecture, black and white, colors. How does photography change for you when used for work and when used for “passion”?
The way I approach the picture never changes. Whether it’s fashion or whether it’s street photography I always keep my point of view. Even when I’m working in fashion, I try not to be bound by canons. I like changes, exploration, sometimes also changing my style on different circumstances. I do not want to be a ‘monochrome’ artist. I wish you would notice my touch, but I would also always create something different and new, without withstand to my own rules.
