Where are you from? Where do you live?
I’m from Udine but since 2005 I’ve been living in Bologna.
How old are you?
How do you pay your bills? Are you working as a professional photographer?
Hahaha! Touche. Right now I’m working in a shoe shop and I’m studying photography. After graduating I did some professional shootings for fashion brands, but I’m not sure I completely liked it. Shooting for me is an instinctive and very private act, and I can’t feel the same emotions while working for someone else.
What cameras do you use?
I mainly use a Canon 40D with two lenses, and a Polaroid sx-70. I’m crazy about cold and poetic atmospheres, opaque colors. I love painting effects. I’m also in love with an old Rollei inherited from my grandpa, but I’m still waiting to work with “her”.
Any photographer or artist inspiring you?
I think art is everywhere. I keep to myself everything that hurts me.I’m inspired by Alexander McQueen, Joanna Newsom, Ray Caesar.
Talking about photography, I’m in love with the 90s, when for the first time, photographers put themselves in front of the lens also and not necessarily only behind it. By doing that, they made the life-art connection possible.
What/who do you enjoy to shoot the most?
People I know. The people I take pictures of are always friends or relatives. I was my own first model. Then I focused on portraits, especially female subjects. I love the feminine body, but it’s not only because of this. Women are not scared of showing their weaknesses. Usually I shoot to see reality and myself clearly, from the outside. Sometimes I discover something new, something I‘ve never seen before.
Do you believe in god?
I can’t hear him cry like I do. Sometimes I think he’s too abstract for my human kilos.
What do you drink on a night out?
Beer. I’m an uncouth man trapped in a princess body.
Do you like dancing?
I dance only when nobody is watching me.
What’s your favorite first name?
I’m obsessed with palindromes, so I think Anna.
Are you a fashion addicted?
Yes, I’m a sinner. I think fashion it’s just another way to express yourself. I grew up with Vogue magazines, and beautiful dresses makes me dream. To say nothing of the shoes! But I’m not feeling guilty.
