PIERPAOLO DE ANGELIS
Are you vegetarian/would you like to be vegetarian?
I’m not vegetarian ,I love meat, but I doubt that eating meat is a sustainable choice for the future.
Did you study photography in school?
Yes, I studied photography at Politecnico di Milano.
A picture that you would love to take
I have not an ideal photo on my mind, it’s difficult for me thinking of a situation or a set.
Do you sell your prints online? Why?
I have worked with an italian agency (Marka) many years ago. Today I have no contact with agencies.
Have you ever attended photographic workshops?
No and I’m not sure about the real benefits of workshops. I mean, often workshops are a big demonstration of the teacher’s ego.
Do you like looking at your old pictures?
Yes why not.
By the way, my latest work (HARVEST) is a big dialogue between old and new photos. A trip through more of ten years of work.
Do you have prints of your works hung on your walls?
I’m very shy about my photos. My wife always tells me to give her a picture of mine to hang on the wall
What social networks are you using? Are they working for your career?
I’m using FB and Flickr, not so much Twitter.
Flickr is a window on the photography world, but it is still very hard to get contacts from it.
Do you believe in horoscopes?
I believe in Peppino De Filippo who says “non è vero…ma ci credo”.
A picture that is very important for you.
It’s a Luigi Ghirri’s photo. Ghirri’s entire work is important but a particular image of the seaside in winter represents for me the beginning of my experience.
Your comfy food
Pizza.
Are you currently planning any trip?
I dream about Iceland and the wild north.
The photographer you would like to spend time working with.
With someone who is willing to share and not to appear.
What is the best photographic book you have seen and why.
The book is “The Americans” by Robert Frank because when it was published it caused a great scandal in a society that did not recognize itself in that ruthless book.
