Where are you from? Where do you live?
I was born in a small town near Milan where I grow up until 30. Now, I live in Pavia.
How old are you?
How do you pay your bills? Are you working as a professional photographer?
I took a degree in Biology. In 2008, I moved to Trieste for a 2 years Master in Science Communication. Actually I work in a publishing house in Milan. Photography is not my job, and i’m not pretty sure I want to be a professional photographer.
What cameras do you use?
My first camera was my father’s Nikon F4, with a 28 mm lens. Right now I use a Nikon D300 (digital is very comfortable when I travel). To realize my projects and in everyday life I prefer analog camera: Hasselblad 500CM, Yashica Mat 124G, Holga and Polaroid. I’m intrigued by 6×6 format.
Any photographer or artist inspiring you?
I like so many artists. I love portraits of Martin Schoeller, landscapes of Joel Sartore and Norman Carver, urban spaces of Gabriele Basilico, women of Bettina Rheims, animals of Stefano Unterthiner… but I don’t know if they inspire me. My pictures comes from so many things, all the images surround me.
What/who do you enjoy to shoot the most?
I like urban spaces and landscapes. I also like to shoot in abandoned places. The marks of the time on people.
Do you believe in god?
The easiest answer. No. I do not believe.
What do you drink on a night out?
Sambuca after dinner. And red beer.
Do you like dancing?
My body moves after some beer.
What’s your favourite first name?
Asia. And your second name, Tecla, is special. Uncommon.
Are you a fashion addicted?
I like sneakers and t-shirt. But i’m not a fashion addicted.
What’s your favourite tv series?
Twin Peaks. I can still remember the light of every single image created by Lynch.

Could you travel without your camera?
No, and I think it will never happens. It’s my tool to understand, like Luigi Ghirri says “photography is our caress to the world”.
