If you could be anything right now, what would you be?
I would love to be Tilda Swinton with the genius of Albert Einstein.
Which book are you reading?
I’m reading Sexus, by Henry Miller
Which photographer is teaching you something?
I don’t know, really. I always loved Newton and Araki, so maybe these two guys (ahah, silly me).
Are you working on a particular project right now? Can you tell us something about it?
Yes, but I’d rather call it an experiment more than a project. It consists in trying to take pictures with a man’s mentality and aesthetics but then, looking deeply, you understand there’s a woman behind them. I don’t think I’ve discovered anything new but I see it as a simple exercise to discover where my photographs can lead me to. I don’t know if I will ever make it but I’m stubborn and persevering, until I get fed up.
When did you decide to shoot girls and why?
Actually I started taking photos of both genders 5 years ago, but I think girls are more expressive and they have a beautiful body to photograph and in general they are more available than guys.
And why did you choose to mix digital with instax mini fujifilm in this project?
There are no reasons, but only chance. The instax mini was a gift for my 26th birthday, which was last august. One morning during a set I asked a model if I could take an instant picture of her and she gave me her consent. I later discovered that my foot was in the picture and I liked it. So it was just pure chance that turned into a series.
