If you could be anything right now, what would you be?
It would be fantastic if I could be just as I really am… unless I can be batman then I definitely wanna be batman!
Which book are you reading?
I’ve already read Ways of Seeing by J.Berger, and I’m trying to finish The Master and Margarita by M.Bulgakov, I really love this one but it makes me anxious at the same time. I’m trying to figure out why.
Which photographer is teaching you something?
I saw and I keep seeing lots of projects, of any kind, some by acknowledged masters of photography and some by young emerging artists. I search for my vision in everything comes to my attention, in what I appreciate and what I dislike. I try to understand the reason for everything I have in front of me, I couldn’t name one or more photographers, I try to learn something from each and everyone, in the good and the bad.
Are you working on a particular project right now? Can you tell us something about it?
I’m working on a project started three years ago, and right now it’s the thing that matters the most to me. I’m trying to retrace the story of my family and all of my memories connected to it, trying to fill up the emptiness that time emphasizes.
Tell us something about your project Memorabilia: actually is not your only work related on memories and the past. What is your relationship with your roots?
Memorabilia is just an idea, a sort of moodboard that I still need to develop. Indeed memory is absolutely an important topic of my research. I guess it depends on the meaning I give to photography, that is a means of time construction, a way to translate what I lived and what I’m living. For some reasons I have memory gaps and I think my photographs help me to put all those pieces of my story in words, like an alphabet, so that I can reconnect to my roots.
Are there some website about photography that you really like, that you check almost daily?
I’ve got countless bookmarks, an amazing mess! Mostly because I often get lost in the internet everytime I’m looking for something. Since when I’ve join Tumblr I’ve found the solution to this chaos: started to share on my blog everything I want to remember!
I usually start with Conscientious, Photo-eye, Little Brown Mushroom, American Suburb X, Foam, The Josef Chladek’s bookshelf, On the Afternoon, Der Greif and so on!
